The new Epiphone Futura Series has been designed from the ground up to invoke the classic Gibson designs but with striking, modern aesthetics and highly versatile electronics. These guitars are equipped with the new Epiphone ProBucker Ignite pickups which have all the humbucking power that you expect out of an Epiphone guitar but have push/pull pots with the ability to be coil split each pickup or give you that crazy “Greeny” out-of-phase sound. The Futura’s also feature all of the modern creature comforts like Grover locking tuners, a GraphTech nut, medium jumbo stainless steel frets, a speedy neck with Epiphone’s Modern C profile, and a compound radius fretboard (10”-14”) which will ensure comfort whether you’re playing chords down low or if you’re shredding up high.
This particular Futura model is the futuristic RD shape, starting as a mashup of the Explorer and the Firebird it was well ahead of its time when it first released in 1977 and it quickly became a fan favourite thanks to its out-there style and its 25.5" scale length. Epiphone have now brought it back, this time with a Twilight Shift finish courtesy of 2077.
