The GIBSON 80s Explorer has once again become a prized and popular guitar and enjoying a new lease on life as guitarists have revisited the model and discovered its many charms as the years passed. Musicians began to embrace its futuristic shape and powerful sound in the 1970s, but during the hard rockin' 80s, the model came into its own and was adopted by some of the greatest players of the decade. The new Gibson 80s Explorer is based on the popular 1984 model. Featuring a Explorer shape Mahogany Body, fast-playing SlimTaper mahogany neck with Indian Rosewood fretboard, new 80s Tribute Humbuckers pickups that accurately capture the unique fat-toned sound and rich sustain of the models from that era, Aluminium Nashville Tune-O-Matic Bridge, Grover Mini Rotomatic Tuners and 2 Volume, Master Tone; Hand-wired with Orange Drop Capacitors Controls. This Gibson Explorer takes a classic style guitar into the modern era for guitarists.
