The Cort KX500 Baritone is a weapon designed to accompany guitarists to the deepest depths of the tuning spectrum and bring them back again. To achieve this the scale length of the KX500 has been extended to a massive 28.03”, tuned to a thunderous B-standard from factory but easily capable of a gargantuan drop E (an octave below standard tuning) with the right strings. Cort have equipped this guitar with the same Seymour Duncan Sentient and Nazgul set that they put into their KX700 guitars, ensuring the tight and punchy low-end that you need when exploring these tunings, while also adding a push-pull tone knob that gives you access to all of the twangy single-coil tones you could want, especially good for getting back some clarity when you’re going extra low.
This guitar is constructed from an okoume body with an English walnut veneer top, creating a lightweight and classy looking guitar, with the larger-than-life neck being a bolt-on, laminated 5-piece roasted maple and walnut affair with a Macassar ebony fretboard. It also features many high end appointments like the Cort locking tuners, glow-in-the-dark side dots, stainless steel frets, and a Graphtech black TUSQ nut.
